How i Paint Aircraft

Bare Metal

The foundation for any quality outcome is knowing what you have. Removing all coatings from the aircraft surface provides an ability to address any hidden issues as well as allows for maximum coating integrity.

Design

Protection from the elements is the practical element of paint. In pursuit of protection, I get the opportunity to apply designs that turn heads. From well executed factory paint schemes to elaborate owner inspired masterpieces, we can work together to make your vision a reality.

Coatings

The base is built on conversion coatings and primers that create both strong adhesion and a smooth surface for the final coats to shine. Top coats are choosen from top quality manufactures including Sherwin Williams, PPG, and Axalta.

Spot Repairs

Issues arise in the life cycle of aircraft exteriors and I take pride in making repairs that are imperceptible.

About
DAC

I have been making and painting repairs to aircraft for 15 years while working at Devils Lake Aero Service. Adding the techniques required to recoat an entire airframe became available with the retirement of Joe (Vanco Aviation, Hazen ND). His knowledge of the industry is vast with +50 years of paint experience and he continues to be an asset to draw on. I am thankful for the opportunity to incorporate his proven methods with my approach to always push for innovation and adaptation. Never stop learning.

For me, painting started back in my Art 101 class and has evolved into always chasing that perfect final coat.

Being a mechanic has always been apart of my equation and I enjoy every minute I get to turn wrenches on anything with an engine. (A&P since 2021)

My business foundation is set on the sentiment that if you are going to do it, DO IT RIGHT AND DO IT FAIR.
